“This is the extraordinary power of conservation today: to help create healthy people and whole communities while at the same time building stronger, more resilient support for conservation itself.”*

Peter Forbes, Center for Whole Communities

Peter Forbes, Center for Whole Communities

Peter Forbes, executive director of the Center for Whole Communities, in Vermont will discuss the importance of integrating conservation, health, and justice and explore new ways of thinking about conservation goals and work. An acclaimed writer, photographer, and conservationist, Forbes co-founded the Center for Whole Communities after 18 years leading conservation projects for the Trust of Public Land. He offers a compelling message that calls for the renewal of the conservation community through promoting and nurturing healthy people and healthy communities as well as healthy land.

Please join us to learn, be inspired and to celebrate the work of organizations selected for Quality of Place grants. RSVP using the form on MPC’s website or call the Maine Philanthropy Center at (207) 780-5039.

EFN members, Maine Philanthropy Center grantmaker members, donor advisors of the Maine Community Foundation, foundation trustees, and invited guests are welcome to attend. This program is not open to the public.
